Where to find Save Files

My Winter Car uses two separate files to store your game data: savefile.txt for world state and carpart.txt for your vehicle.

Windows

The standard location for My Winter Car save files on Windows is:

%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Amistech\My Winter Car\

How to access quickly:

  1. Press Win + R on your keyboard.
  2. Paste the path above into the Run dialog.
  3. Press Enter.

Linux / Steam Deck

If you are running via Proton (Steam Play), files are inside the compatdata folder:

~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/[GAME_ID]/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/LocalLow/Amistech/My Winter Car/

Note: The Game ID is assigned by Steam. Check PCGamingWiki or your steamapps folder for the specific ID number for My Winter Car.

⚠️ Important: The "DefaultES2" File

In older versions of My Summer Car, data was stored in defaultES2.txt. My Winter Car splits this into:

  • savefile.txt: World, player stats (money, thirst), and jobs.
  • carpart.txt: Rivett (car) part wear and tightness.

You must upload BOTH files for the editor to work correctly.
